Rosie & Winter's Training Journey
This journey captures the transformation of Winter from overwhelmed dog who struggled with focus and ignored her owner Rosie when outside their home, to confident companions with a reliable, happy recall. We hope their story inspires your own path from chaos to calm.

We started with a free one to one consultation to listen and understand her issues: Winter's recall while outside was poor and she couldn't be off the lead. I worked with Rosie to devise a personalised training programme and we meet every few weeks so that Rosie could practice and in-bed everything we have gone through. Â I am with her and Winter every step of the way, at the end of a WhatsApp message to answer any questions. We still have one or two sessions to go so do come back to check on their progress.
Session 1: No Focus Outside
Winter is very distracted by surroundings and ignoring commands. We focus on rebuilding her relationship with Rosie through daily loose lead walking
Session 3: Building Reliable Recall
Winter is learning that returning to Rosie  is the most rewarding choice as we introduce long line recall with three digfferent comands.
Session 2: First Steps to Engagement
Building the foundation with basic eye contact and reward-based engagement.  We continue the daily loose lead walking and introduce play to help focus, realease of prey drive instincts and  improve impulse control.
Session 4: Off-Lead Confidence - to be continued.....
Full freedom with total focus. A reliable, happy dog and a relaxed owner.
Training Insights
BUILDING ENGAGEMENT
The foundation of any journey is focus. We start by teaching Winter that her owner is the most interesting thing in the world, even with distractions nearby.
USING REWARDS
Positive reinforcement creates a happy learner. We use high-value rewards to mark correct decisions, turning training into a game they both love to play.
MANAGING DISTRACTIONS
Success is built step-by-step. We gradually increase the level of difficulty and distractions to ensure recall remains reliable in every environment.
